About MWS

As a private, non-profit preschool we strive to offer excellent teaching, beautiful classrooms, and inspiring programs to children of all cultures, faiths, and walks of life.

MWS is a happy and engaging place away from home. Our caring teachers provide hands-on experiences and positive feedback to stimulate social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. We provide a thoughtfully  planned, developmentally appropriate curriculum to help children gain the skills they will need as they prepare for the next level.  As children enjoy what’s familiar and gradually master what’s difficult, they gain confidence in their ability to succeed in school.

We  believe all children start on a predictable path of development and that they reveal their individual strengths, personalities, and preferences as they explore the world around them. By offering a broad variety of experiences, we help them establish the skills and self-control they need to work and play effectively & happily with others. Above all else, we make sure school is an exciting and fun place to be, so each child develops a life-long love of learning.

We enroll up to 58 children from Lexington, Bedford, Arlington, and several other other nearby communities, and even other countries. Our students range in age from 2 years nine months to 5+ years old.  They enter school in various stages of motor, social, and language development–including some who speak little or no English. No matter what language they speak–American English, Russian, Mandarin, Korean, Dutch, Spanish or Farsi–our students are all fluent in the universal language of play, movement, and laughter. We welcome the wonderful variety of students and parents; they enrich our school life on a daily basis.

Our regular curriculum runs from 9:00am until noon.  We offer early drop off beginning at 7:45, and the school day can be extended further until 1:00 with our lunch option, until 2:30 in enrichment classes for pre-k students, and until 3:00 with our extended day option.  If you have needs for an even longer afternoon, we would love to hear from you!  We are exploring this option for the future.  Your input will help us assess the needs of our families.

We admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to students at the school.  We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, scholarships and other school-administered programs.
