Pat McClure, Co-Director

Shortly after college, Pat took her mother’s advice and got a master’s degree in special education at BU. After grad school, she taught multiply handicapped children at Fernald State School and then a class of severely multiply-handicapped children for 3 years in the Newton Public Schools when Chapter 766, the special education laws, were new in Massachusetts.

After 10 years as a SAHM, Pat started at MWS in 1986 in the same way most of our teachers did: as a teacher assistant when her children attended. She worked with 3-year-olds until 1990 when she became Lead Teacher of her own group of young 4’s. In January 2000, she became a co-director of the school with Ruth Carlson while maintaining her teaching position. As of September 2017, Pat is on a parttime schedule at MWS, confident that her longtime teacher assistant Cindy Bobrow will do a wonderful job teaching the Monday, Tuesday, Thursday class.

A resident of Lexington since 1977, Pat has three grown children and four sweet grandchildren. Outside her school time, she enjoys reading, gardening, walking, visiting the Cape, and taking road trips with her husband to see new places.
