Pumpkins and Squirrels

We made a smooth transition from pumpkins/Halloween into squirrel activities this week. On Monday the children who wanted to assist gave Mrs. Dotivala a helping hand and carved our large pumpkin into a beautiful Jack-o-lantern. When it was lit from the inside, the children’s faces lit up on the outside. The class enjoyed having the Jack-o-lantern again on Tuesday while eating their special Halloween snack.

The children made squirrel art projects, some of which are on our bulletin board looking for acorns.

Some of the play choices are seen below:

The children grew squirrel tails when we sang the song “Gray Squirrel, Gray Squirrel, Swish Your Bushy Tail”. So did the teachers but no picture here!

An entire squirrel family visited during Circle Time this week. Your children know the names of each one….ask them to find out who they are.
