Welcome Fall

Time flies when you are having fun and our class is certainly having that. It was so nice meeting everyone on visiting day and I look forward to meeting you again in a couple of weeks. (Back to school night is Wednesday Oct 16th.) The children have quickly settled into our daily routine. They walk into the school happily, hang up their bags, carry in their water bottles and wash their hands before they start to play. September has been a busy month. We’ve been using different mediums to create art. For children this age the excitement lies in the process of creating art and they are so proud of what they make. We celebrated three September birthdays together. We “cooked” for the first time mini vanilla cupcakes. We started our creative movement class. We’ve also had our first fire drill and though the children were surprised by the loud alarm and flashing lights they were quick to line up and vacate the building.

This week we had our music class with Mrs. Wada. She is an amazing teacher who has been with MWS for over 20 years. Our music class will be there every Tuesday. The children had a great time singing, dancing and using the egg shakers to make music. They also met the world famous Baby Shark.

Each week we have a friendly visitor or two join us during circle time. Our first visitor was Clifford, the big red dog. Usually I read a book about our visitor before they make an appearance. So far we’ve had Biscuit, Mittens, Cow, Hedgie Hedgehog, Bunny and Fletcher Fox. The children are always very excited to meet and sing our hello song but some of our visitors don’t understand English. Ask your children and they can tell you how we greet them.

Enjoy the beautiful fall weather and have a wonderful weekend.
