Art Projects

Bus:

This project was based off of Mo Willem’s book “Don’t Let Pigeon Drive the Bus.” The kids started with a shape of a bus on yellow paper; they used a toilet paper roll dipped in black paint to give their bus wheels. They added windows and an image of Pigeon. A fun way to reinforce the story in their minds.

License Plate

This was all about recognizing the letters in our names. Students were given foam letter stickers and their name card. They were asked to put the letters of their name in order and sounding them out. Once the letters were in the right order, they peeled off the stickers and created a name license plate. A great workout for those fine motor muscles, some of those stickers are not easy!

Recycling Truck

The kids were given a sample to reference and asked to create recycling trucks; arranging and glueing various shapes to the page. They also practiced using scissors by cutting out the larger green square of the truck body.

The kids also experimented with cars and paint; driving cars around a large piece of paper and seeing the tracks they made. They also got to paint big red cars on the easel and use car stickers to create day or night scenes.
