Fall Fun

Hello Families,

We had a great start to October!

Our letter of the week was L. We learned how to write and identify the letter L. You probably had a chance to see their letter L tracing sheet and their letter L poem, both were sent home earlier this week. We also learned how to make the L sound.

We focused on leaves, apples and acorns this past week.

We made tie-tye leaves, leaf ink prints, and leaf rubbings. We read an apple poem. We also had a fall-themed sensory bin with apples.

While our class was on the playground, one classroom friend asked if we could collect acorns before we headed into the building. I thought that was a wonderful idea. We took a detour back and collected acorns by a nearby oak tree.

We came inside and drew an acorn in our nature books. Later, we read a book about acorns at Circle Time. We learned that an acorn is a seed and it can turn into an oak tree. We decided to plant our seeds and nurture them in class. Our fall science project is to see if our acorns can sprout into baby oak trees.

Until next time…

Mrs. Chen
