A Thanksgiving Turkey

This past week we focused on the letter C and the two sounds that it makes. Each week we not only try and reinforce our new letter but we also practice the older letters and their sounds. Ask your child if their teachers have been able to trick them yet with the letter sounds?

We played in popcorn all week long and we made popcorn for snack (with melted butter and salt of course!).

Ms. Wada did yoga with us during our movement class. The children along with their teachers, all really loved this! We often incorporate yoga breathing into our circle time by having the children take some deep breaths and count aloud. This activity helps their bodies to relax and reset.

In preparation for Thanksgiving, we talked about what it means to be thankful for something and we read a couple of books. Here is our thankful turkey.

I am thankful for…

Plastic pipes, magnetic letters and Tinker Toys were a big hit this past week.

Also, the Search And Find books were used frequently.

Vehicles and ramps along with a dinosaur mountain were also very popular.

As usual, the Big Room was filled with laughter and fun. Crunching in the outside leaves was a daily pastime.

Thanksgiving fun will continue ahead along with our Thanksgiving feast on Wed., 11/22. Please remember that the whole school gets dismissed on that day at 12:00.

It was so nice talking with most of you this past week about your child. They truly are amazing little people!
