Art Projects

Winter clothes sequencing:

The kids used scissors to cut a piece of paper containing images of winter clothing and, using a visual aide, glued them in sequential order.

Tissue paper Mitten

Each child wet a paper mitten using paint brushes and a cup of water. Once the paper was saturated with water, a variety of colored tissue paper squares were added with the goal of covering up all the white space. Once it was covered, spray bottle of water were used to make the color of the tissue paper bleed into the paper. Once they were dry, the tissue paper was peeled off and everyone got to see their mittens as an activity in circle time.

Shape Printing

Remember the styrofoam plates we decorated with foam shapes? This week we used them to do a little printmaking. The kids covered their plate with yellow paint and then pressed them onto white paper.

Winter Tree:

Using a koosh ball attached to a paint brush, the kids created a snowy winter tree on the easel with white paint. Throughout the year, each student will make four different trees representing the different seasons.
