Run, Run, as Fast as You Can

As everyone saw last week, the Orange class runs seamlessly even when I cannot be at school. The entire Orange team works as a unit allowing for activities to continue no matter which staff are present. Last week, the children began our Gingerbread activities, enjoying many versions of the classic story “The Gingerbread Man.” The main theme throughout all versions is the Gingerbread Man who says “Run, Run, as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man.” If you’re child came to school today (Wednesday, 12/23), ask him/her who ran away in today’s story (hint - a Pickle [Stop That Pickle]).

As you know, the children love the special friends who come to our Meeting Time. This week, our special visitors were Gingerbread Boys. Everyday, we sing our Hello song to each person in the room and then our friends (Woof, Woof Biscuit….., Meow, Meow Mittens….) Please show the picture of the Gingerbread Boys to your child and ask him/her for their names and how to sing the Hello song to them. From left to right, their names are 1)Run, 2)Run Run, and 3)Run Run Run. Fortunately, my audience thinks this is very funny. I don’t think that an audience of adults would have the same reaction.

The snow on the playground was perfect for play - deep and soft. Many children worked together to make a snowman. Remember to remove the snow clothes from the bags so they can dry out overnight. Have a wonderful holiday break and Happy New Year.
