Halloween Fun

We spent last week celebrating Halloween in so many ways. This time of year brings the children out in all of us. We played games…

We created with orange playdough…

We put jack-o-lantern faces on orange pumpkins and used Halloween stencils…

We had fun playing with spiders, pumpkins and Halloween eggs in coffee beans. We also had out an assortment of Halloween puzzles to put together within the classroom.

We carved a pumpkin and named it Ben. We first weighed it, measured the height of it with Unifix cubes and then counted the lines on it. We also counted the seeds inside of the pumpkin by tens. These was one participant who loves numbers and was a big helper with the counting. Who do you think that was?

Ask your children how many seeds were inside of our pumpkin?

Ben also had snack with us and read a book with us during reading time.

We made leaves for our classroom tree by dipping leaf shapes into shaving cream and paint and then sliding a popsicle stick over the shape. They came out so colorful!

Search and Find books were put out this past week. They were a big hit! The children loved pairing up and finding the pictures together. We were so impressed with the cooperative skills that the children displayed during this activity!

Building is still a favorite activity in the classroom by most of the children. What wonderful skills are learned through building with toys.

Next is Thanksgiving and our Thanksgiving feast which we will share with Mrs. Chen’s class on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd. This is always a favorite activity with the PreK children.

Thank you for letting us spend time with your adorable children!

Jan and Maggie
