Off to a Great Start!

Helping Hands

At the beginning of the year we spend a lot of time talking about routines and responsibilities.  One of those responsibilities is cleaning up after playtime.  Your children are already excellent listeners and eager to help clean up.  I love this picture because it demonstrates what great helpers they are.  I asked for one person to clean up the blocks on the table and four of them rushed over to assist.  Taking care of our classroom and helping each other are important ways that we build community.

Last week we talked about the letters in our names and had the children practice creating their names in different ways. They used watercolors to paint over their name in white crayon; they assembled their name using letter sticker puzzle pieces; they make a sparkly version using glue and glitter; and they built their name using letters in the sensory table.

We celebrated two birthdays this month. Happy Birthday to Maika and Christo! We enjoyed baking cupcakes to celebrate Maika’s and Christo’s special day.

We are having such fun and look forward to a wonderful year together! Thank you for sharing your children with us.
