Farm Week!
This past week, we read books about corn and farm animals. We worked on fine motor skills by making a corn on the cob craft out of toilet paper rolls and popcorn kernels. The children first painted the roll yellow then pinched the kernels and placed them on the rolls where I had put dots of glue. In the sensory bin we had popcorn kernels, a barn and lots of farm animals. The children “fed” the animals and transported the corn in the toy tractors. During circle time we sang “Old McDonald” and had many farm animals visit to help us sing our song. On Tuesday we had music class with Ms. Wada. We sang songs and danced with scarves. The old cellphones were out this week for pretend play. The children worked on their language skills by having fun conversations with each other and the teachers. We also worked on our gross motor skills with pedal bikes in the Big Room.
