Art Projects

Crows

Children painted their crow’s body with glue, applied beak, feet, and tissue paper squares. This project builds their spatial planning skills; locating where the beak and feet are on a crow, as well as covering the entire surface in tissue paper.

Corn

Each student was given a yellow corn cut out and green stalk. Looking at the sample, they were asked to find the bottom of the cob and glue on the green stalk. Once the corn cob was assembled, they decorated it with crumpled tissue paper dipping them in glue. Picking up small items with fingers, like tissue paper balls, helps build fine motor muscles in their hands

Scarecrow

This was great for spatial planning as well; kids were given all the elements of the scarecrow and asked to assemble using a sample as a guide( plus a little teacher support).

Each one came out a little different

Free Art

We painted with toys! This week the kids experimented using legos and gears on the easel

Sensory Fun

In the sensory table this week we had out sand and sand toys.

Action Cam

One last thing!

I appreciate your understanding that a blog was not posted leading up to Thanksgiving. I typically travel for the holidays and was unable to post. I do want to share an art project the kids worked on that week; they collaborated making a giant Thanksgiving turkey for the classroom and practiced cutting paper feathers. During circle, everyone took turns saying what they were thankful for and I did get some pretty funny responses. This is normal for three years who live in the moment, so if you didn’t get a shout out I hope you get a good laugh. The feathers will come home next week
