Almost Halloween

We had a variety of activities available this week including some for Halloween. The children always enjoy the Halloween activities but it’s best to keep it as a ‘low-key’ celebration. These Halloween choices were used during the week along with other activities:

Our three Circle Time friends that are pictured are Ghost, Halloween Bear, and Clown Bear. I told the children that these are people dressed up in costumes so we are able to sing our Hello song to them in English. No one doubted my explanation. When other teachers came into the room during the week, the children told them that there are people inside the costumes. Don’t you love 3-year olds? Ask your child how to sing to this weeks’ friends and why? I’d love to know what they tell you.

The children continue to enjoy our weekly music class with Mrs. Wada on Tuesdays. We have been using rhythm sticks (seen on the bottom) and jack-o-lantern sponges. The jack-o-lantern sponges are used for the choreography of the well-known composition “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Edvard Grieg. The music is easily found on YouTube; your child may enjoy hearing it at home.

We also continue to have our weekly Movement Class, usually on Wednesdays.

Eight unique pumpkin faces to make you smile.

Not so scary mummies and monsters.

We almost tricked the children on Thursday. We passed around the ‘pumpkin’ on the left to all the children during Circle Time. As it went around, all agreed it was a small pumpkin. However, someone finally noticed the orange scent in the room (from peeling the clementines out of view) and decided it was an orange. It was a lot of fun.

I think we all have t-shirts with pictures or words that are meaningful, whether it’s a place name we have visited or a design that gives us pleasure. The children enjoy showing us the pictures on their shirts. We often see trucks, dinosaurs, hearts, unicorns, etc. One of our boys wore a shirt this week that absolutely speaks the truth!
