HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Pumpkin Faces.

This is such an exciting time of the year. The children have been talking about their costumes, candy and the pumpkins they painted. Every Tuesday in Music class we sing, dance and use musical instruments like egg shakers and rhythm sticks. We danced with Jack O’ lantern sponges in Mrs. Wada’s class. The music was Edvard Grieg’s “In the Hall of The Mountain King”. We have also been listening to Vivaldi’s “Autumn”

Here’s a link to Grieg’s “In the Hall of the mountain king”

The children really enjoyed the choreography.

Today during circle time I placed our class pumpkin on the rug and wondered out loud if the children could pick it up. So our strong children met the challenge. It is interesting to see how each child would try to pick the pumpkin… some tried to pick it from the stem, some grabbed it from the middle, some just scooped it right up. Some did not want try while others tried to pick it multiple times….most of them were successful. It was a lot of fun. Then Mrs. Wiryaman and Mrs. Lee carved our class pumpkin. The children helped to scoop out the pumpkin seeds with a metal spoon, a wooden spoon and their hands.

Our circle time visitor is a friendly ghost. He has lights inside him that swirl. The children love to say BOO! to him. They also miss the circle time friends from the past and sometimes old friends like Biscuit, Mittens, squirrel family… do pop by to sing the Hello song.

Enjoy the weather and have a happy Halloween!
