Lunar Near Year

The Orange Classroom enjoyed many activities this week for Lunar/Chinese New Year. Art projects, songs, books, a felt poem, a hand drum, and of course, special Circle Time Visitors enhanced the fun.

Our Circle Time visitors were a friendly dragon and a rabbit signifying the Year of the Rabbit. The children enjoyed the creative way to sing our Hello song to them…ask them how.

The hand drum seen in the photo above was used every day. The children learned to spin the handle between the palms of their hands to make the noise. Even dragon and rabbit did it between their legs.

We were fortunate to be able to go to the playground most days this week. Be sure to dry out all of the clothing each day. There was less snow each day and I assume there won’t be any left by Monday. Snow or no snow, continue to send all of the clothing each day.

I hope to see you at our MWS Interactive Art Show tomorrow, January 28 (9:00-11:00 am). All of the rooms look wonderful and as you visit each classroom, there will be a different project in each for your child to create.
