It’s Pumpkin Time!

There was a lot of excitement in the Red Class in the week leading up to Halloween! We had to stay inside most of the time because of the wet and windy weather, but we kept busy with many fun pumpkin related activities.

Painting, building, drawing and sculpting pumpkins:

We made torn paper spiders to decorate our marble painted spider webs:

And we squeezed in some math by measuring our class pumpkin, carving it and counting the seeds. After reading the book How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin? by Margaret McNamara, the children decided to group the seeds by 10 for faster counting. The total was 483!
