Classroom Tree

In our classroom, we have a tree on one of the bulletin boards that we decorate to reflect the changing seasons. At the beginning of fall, we painted leaves and apples. When those came down, we slowly added squirrels, acorns, crows and scarecrows. I like to ask the children what they would like to add to our tree. It gives them a sense of ownership and helps develop their imaginations. If you look closely, you will see that someone added a bird feeder. This particular child was concerned that the scarecrows would do such a good job scaring the birds away that they would have nothing to eat!

There is so much happening in this scene!
