Brrr…..
The frigid temperatures and snow last week provided a great atmosphere for our winter theme. Because it was too cold to go outside for several days, we had plenty of extra time to do art projects. We had cool winter colors at the easel all week for open ended painting. It is always interesting to see the different styles.
We made snowman suncatchers based on the book Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Beuhner as well as winter hats based on Jan Brett’s The Hat.
We also had extra time in the Big Room on the days we had to stay inside. The children had a great time going around the track in the cozy coupe cars. Like real drivers, they were required to follow the rules of the road, which they mostly did. I am happy to report that there were only a few minor fender benders. The good news is that nobody’s insurance rates were affected!
