Hello, Autumn!

This week brought the arrival of Fall.  We read a book called Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn and talked about the changes that happen in Autumn.  One of the changes the children noticed is that leaves are falling from the trees.  I encouraged our class to look for leaves when we were outside on the playground.  They amassed quite a collection and spent part of the morning sorting, examining, and identifying the leaves, using the book Awesome Autumn as a reference.

Some wanted to draw pictures of the leaves, while others made abstract drawings with Fall colors.

We ended the week by playing with our Fall sensory buckets.
