A Thankful November

This November we are thankful for the positivity and support that you as parents provide us each day. We are also thankful for those amazing little children that you entrust in our care.

It seems like November came and went. The weather was so unpredictable. Thank you for sending in warm jackets, hats and mittens. When it is cold, the wind on the playground can be strong. We will continue to go out each day unless it is raining or too cold. Your children are amazing at getting on their outside clothes. We always encourage them to first try it themselves and then we give help when needed.

November included light table fun, corn play, cooking together and wooden block fun…

We also celebrated Declan’s 5th birthday. Cupcakes were made and enjoyed by the class.

We read one of our favorite books about friendship called Stick and Stone. We also read a Mo Willems book called Should I Share My Ice Cream? We told the children that sometimes it is even hard for adults to share but we still do!

We also read a book about what it means to be thankful. The children cut out and fringed (new word!) a turkey feather and we put together our “Thankful Turkey” for the classroom.

We also painted turkeys at the easel.

Last Wednesday, we enjoyed a wonderful feast together with Mrs. Arsenault’s class. The menu included freshly baked corn bread, freshly popped popcorn, Craisins, applesauce and a cornucopia of fresh fruit. We also enjoyed some freshly made butter that was delicious on the cornbread. New vocabulary words included feast and cornucopia. What a fun day!

We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving together with your families.

We are looking forward to moving into December together with all kinds of holiday excitement!

Take care,

Jan and Maggie
