Gingerbread and Pajamas
December has to be the best month ever when you spend the day with children. The enthusiasm and smiles were overflowing in our classroom all month. Holiday time is so fun!
A week ago, we had a very exciting day when our gingerbread man ran away before we had a chance to eat him! We first read the story, The Gingerbread Man. Then we charted ways that we could keep our gingerbread man from running away. Some of the things that were suggested were… closing and locking the doors, stuffing the space underneath the door and covering the windows on the door so the Gingerbread Man could not break through. Our ideas did not work since Mrs. Reiss found our gingerbread man down the hall. Once we had him back, we happily ate his legs first so that he could not run again…:)
We had such a great time decorating our own gingerbread houses. The children loved personalizing them with candy!
This is our classroom gingerbread house that we made together. What fun the children had!
As you all know, we had pajama day this past Thursday. We played board games, made pictures with holiday stickers and built houses for our stuffed animals out of wooden blocks and blankets. We also had snack with Mrs. Arsenault’s class which consisted of gingerbread shaped waffles, pancakes and oranges. We all sat together on the rug afterwards and Mrs. Arsenault read Llama, Llama Red Pajama to us . What a fun day it was!
We hope that you all have a wonderful holiday together with your families and a fun filled school break. We look forward to seeing your children in January for some more fun!
