Welcome to the new school year! Your children are so adorable. We cannot wait to spend the upcoming school year with them.

This past week we had only one (very hot) day of school. During this day, these are some of the things that we did…

• We recited a poem containing our names; when we heard our names, we stood up.

• We met our classroom owl who is named Wings.

• We learned about the 5 things that we need to do in order to be a good listener.

• We introduced our “Good Morning Song”.

• We introduced our classroom jobs.

• We touched upon what it means to be a good friend.

• We read the book, “Pete The Cat I Love My White Shoes” and sang the song. We talked about what color our sneakers or shoes were. Ask your child how Pete’s shoes became red, blue, brown and then white again?

• We enjoyed our first snack together and learned our snack song.

• We also had our first lunch. Lunch becomes a very social time as the year progresses.

• We colored in signs that said your child “rocked” their first day of school (and they really did!).

Please keep bringing those water bottles in. Your children get thirsty when they run around outside.
