Transportation Week

The Orange Classroom was busy this week with all things Transportation, with a few non-transportation items joining in. There were more transportation items than in the photos but I forgot to take pictures of them.

Your children have been practicing their cutting skills.

This castle and figures proved to be very popular in the midst of all the cars, trucks, and trains this week.

Our Circle Time visitor this week tried to play a trick on us. This little bee arrived on Monday but your children could not be fooled. As soon as I brought him out and introduced him as a bee some of the children said that’s not a bee. But he has antennae and wings. No No, they said, he has ears. And a mouth. And a nose. Lo and behold, it is Winnie the Pooh wearing a bee costume. Henceforth, I called him Winnie the Bee. He was a fun visitor to our circle.

On Thursday, we had a lot of fun with my aprons. When I sat down for Circle Time at 10:15, I realized I had forgotten to put on an apron. I brought my bag of aprons to the rug and took them out, one by one. The children loved seeing all of the folded aprons lined up on the rug because of all of the colors. But then the decision had to be made about which one I should put on. There were so many different answers that I put all of them on. The laughter as I added one on top of the other was heard out in the hall. It gave me the opportunity to read a book to them called “Mrs. Levine’s Colorful Aprons” which talks about all of the colors and what I keep in the pockets. Ask your children “What is in Mrs. Levine’s pockets?” (Hint: phone, keys, the orange cards, an orange whistle)

If your child came to school on Friday, ask them how to tell if Mrs. Levine is a ‘Super Woman” or a “Super Teacher.” I’d love to know how they explain that to you!
