Apples, Apples Everywhere
Last week, we focused on apples and the letter A. We painted apples at the easel, played with apples in oatmeal and sorted apples by number. With this last activity, the children had to find 4 ways to make the numbers 1-5 with apples. The different ways included the number of seeds, the number of fingers, the number on a domino and the printed word. It was very challenging!
We have also been discussing the new season of fall and what fall means for the weather outside. We made some beautiful fall trees by painting with broccoli. It is always so wonderful to see how each child goes about tackling an art project in their own unique way. Notice how different these trees are!
All of the children are enjoying our “reading nook” which is part of our classroom this year. They will often ask a friend to go to this special spot to read a book with them or a child may just want to go there on their own to relax.
The boys and girls have fun each day with the wide variety of manipulatives that we put out in our classroom. They approach these activities with such creativity. They love to build things both small and large.
Some outside fun on the patio…
…and on the playground.
Lastly, this is a fun book that we read. It wasn’t apple related but one that we did not get to last week. It is a favorite of ours and they loved it!
We would like you to know that your children were rockstars wearing their masks for the past 2 weeks. We know that they did not enjoy wearing them but they never complained…not once! We were so proud of them all.
You have such endearing children. We feel so lucky to be able to spend time with them each week.
Thank you for all that you do to make our week easier…
