Welcome Spring!!

The weather has finally warmed up a bit and the children have loved playing outside. The sand box toys have been a huge hit on the playground. We often overlap with the younger children during playground time so some of the siblings get to see each other. The hugs that many of them give each other are adorable!

One week we used different types of drums in music class and had to beat them to the rhythm of music. The children did a wonderful job of keeping up with the beat. They enjoyed using all of the drums but the big drums were definitely their favorite.

Your children’s creativity is amazing. We just need to pass out some fine motor materials and away they go! Even though they sit next to each other, many times they create completely different things.

We put together some very cute American flags.

We made brownies this past week for cooking and put together an awesome vehicle in the Big Room.

Lastly, we have welcomed two new friends into our classroom. They are caterpillars who go by the names of Catapilly and Calla. We picked two names out of a bag after having each child suggest one name. We spent some time discussing the life cycle of a butterfly along with reading some books about them. The children have been very excited about their new friends!

We have some exciting events coming up on our school calendar for the month of May. This year has been going by so fast. We are almost done with our alphabet books that we began in September.

Thank you again for all that you do to keep our mornings running smoothly.

Happy Spring!

Jan and Maggie
